Many poultry enthusiasts keep their birds as pets (as we do here on Skye). Like us you may breed small numbers from time to time as well as buying or receiving free birds to add to your flock. If you do raise your own birds you will know only too well the problems that can arise. Surplus birds.

Very often the boys are not able to be kept and still keep the harmony in your existing flock. The males might not lay, but they are full of character, handsome, colourful and deserving of good homes just like the girls.

You might want to exchange one breed of bird for another, or you may just have surplus birds you wish to pass on to someone else who shares your passion for keeping poultry.
